‘PEA’ for Strawberry hill flower festival 2025, tucked away in one of the gardens’ tree groves was inspired by the land art movement of the 1970s. The secluded setting plays as much as a part in the overall installation as the materials themselves.
A levitating fairy ring of sweetpea vines, charmed with rowan berry beads for protection from the fae folk.
Lunaria & pea-pod fairies dance above their circle.
Bold & graphic shape is created using soft, delicate plant matter to contrast the unorderly character of the natural world with contrived symbolic form.

GOLDEN VALLEY, 2025 was commissioned by The Wilson art gallery and Museum, Cheltenham for COMMON GROUND, an exhibition guest curated by artist Ben Edge.
The exhibition explores stories of change, loss, rebellion and reclamation in relation to common land and the natural environment.
Including contemporary artists’ responses to our relationship with the landscape by reconnecting with place and redefining narratives.
GOLDEN VALLEY is a sculpted landscape installation inspired by the farming heritage of the local area.
The use of raw sheeps wool is informed by the rich textile history of the area; the five Golden Valleys, so named after its monetary wealth created in the processing and trading of wool since the medieval period.
Crop and livestock farming is also nodded to with wheat, oats, barley, hay & straw.
Cotswold stone & thatching straws are used within the installation depicting the building resources that the local landscape also provides.
GOLDEN VALLEY is a demonstration of the impact plants and the landscape have on the course of history as our reliance on nature as a resource.
